Randy: I have owned AOL less than a week -- some long-term investor, yes I know :) I think YAHOO and AOL do overlap, and while I use AOL on the road, I have never used any of their services -- I can't turn their offers and features off fast enough. I find yahoo more useful, and yahoo is more global. What I like about AOL is that my mother uses it, and I think next year she will want to make video calls to me -- Florida to Hawaii and on the road (she is my model non-techie prototype consumer). I think there are a lot of people like her out there in this world. She seems to like AOL - and I can see her paying bills, buying stuff and so on using AOL. The Time deal gives them postive cash flow which looks like it is going to be a really important determinant of staying power -- and this may be the undoing of AMZN.
