A technical indicator and trading system for ProTA anyone still bookmark this? This is an exponential moving average of the moving average of the low plus the exponential ma of the high for 2 periods, but you can substitute others: ma(8,e,(ma(2,e,l)+ma(2,e,h))/2 you can substitute the 2 periods for any number as a custom indicator by starting out the formula as RangePeriod:2 and substituting RangePeriod for the 2 in my equation above. you can also vary the first MA of 8 the same way. I set it up to test against 300 stocks as a corssover against the 20 day simple moving average as this: (ma(8,e,(ma(2,e,l)+ma(2,e,h))/2)>ma(20,s) for the long trade. to exit I just used the reverse condition, although that could be substantially improved with a prive/volume trend indicator. itworks very nicely for longer term holds.
