stock bull, from the experts I have seen and read on the news I think reality is clear as mud.

First of all, we don't know if they will rule to break up MSFT. Let's call it 50/50 of a breakup. Second, some have said MSFT would actually be better off after a breakup so whether damage would in fact be done to MSFT is 50/50.

25% chance of a breakup with damage to the company. Or, in other words 3/1 odd MSFT is not affected.

Even if the damage is done to MSFT, I have not heard clear logic to measure that damage.

So, if there is a 25% chance of damages and the damages are difficult to measure I think at this point it is like speculating on Diana's last minutes. Headlines for newhounds but pure speculation until we get a ruling indicating which way it will go.

Even then as you pointed out, Y3K may be an issue before MSFT finishes it's appeals.

As for the boxmakers, since it isn't even clear for MSFT I don't see it having any impact in reality on the them.

Perception may move the stocks but there is little substance behind it at this time.
