THE WATSONYOUTH Re: Retirement

wats,
So what are your plans for tommorrow? I can't wait to be retired like you.

BTW- I'm not an expert on processors or anything, but you mentioned they could crank up the voltage to get more speed. This makes sense to me for the Athlon, because it can take the heat. But the PIII at 1 Ghz seems to need some heavy duty cooling. Therefore, to an amatuer like me, I think that even more cooling (IE kryotech) will be needed to get PIII above 1 Ghz.

Am I off base here?

TWY: "I'm assuming all the critical path work has been done and no one or several paths stand out"

Good post but I think you are jumping the gun a little here with this assumption. Fixing one speed path just uncovers the next one so this can be an ongoing project.
