Elmer,

I challenge you to look through Scumbria's posts for the last year, and evaluate their accuracy.

I'll save you some work. Let me summarize my top ten predictions from the previous two years.

1. K7 will ramp up rapidly in frequency.
2. K6 will never make any money for AMD.
3. Rambus performance on motherboards will be no better than SDRAM.
4. Athlon integer performance will be about the same as PII.
5. Willy will be faster than Athlon.
6. The P6 core will see speed improvements through process enhancements, rather than microarchitectural changes.
7. Merced is just a placeholder for McKinley.
8. MXi will stink.
9. AMD needs SSE.
10. K6 will not be able to keep up with PII MHz.

And my top prediction for the coming months:

Dresden is going to leave Intel in a world of hurt.

EP,

Originality is not your strong suit, huh?
