The entire building would not have to be using one ISP, I guess is my primary point. Because of the price point on the units it would not take a monopoly of the tenants in the building to cost justify the install. In addition to the tenants in the initial building the ISP would also be in a position to use a link to a building as a stepping stone in building their own metro ring/network.

In addition to the above, multiple ISP's could target a single building or originate their service from the same building and still use the product. That is one of the nice things about optical wireless, inter-device interference is not nearly the issue that it is with RF systems.

As for Terabeam, although I certainly may be wrong, to the best of my knowledge they are planning to install for themselves. I do not believe they intend to market the hardware to competing service providers.
