Win98 SE probably was the reason why you were having all those problems. The 16-bit GDI and USR heaps are truely anachronistic some 13 years after the introduction of i386. Win2000 is much more robust; in my experience, quite on a par with Linux in terms of reliability. I have both boxes running for over half a year at a time (been using Win2k since Beta3). IMHO, the Linux box is easier to tweak with thanks to the extensive documentation. IE5 however is hands-down winner over Netscape, in reliablity, functionality and performance. Too bad there isn't a version of IE5 for Linux. Perhaps MSFT should be sued for that :-)
