Michael,
Position trading signals favor the bears. I think that will last long. Appears support is strong at in the 26 to 27 area. We will need to see increased volume and rising prices to reverse the signal.

Here is an early sign of higher oil prices starting to slow down economic growth. This could dampen the Fed raising interest rates if oil prices slow the economy down without creating run away inflation.

Manufacturing Economy Keeps Growing

NEW YORK (AP) -- Growth in the manufacturing economy continued in March, but at
a slower rate than in February, an industry group said in a report today that
warned about the rising cost of energy and raw materials. Of 20 industries
surveyed by the National Association of Purchasing Management, 17 reported
higher prices. ``A number of respondents expressed concern that escalating
energy-related costs may slow the economy,' the report said. The index of the
manufacturing economy was at 55.8 percent in March, down from 56.9 February, but
well above the reading of 50 that indicates growth.
