Remember that there are other lawsuits from states and private industries also. If the judge's words are harsh (we all expect them to be), that will open many other flood gates. There might be a relief rally, just be careful since it can turn any time. Be quick to cash them out if you smell something bad.

I hope I'm right also :-) My thinking is that just as the stock price built in the expectation of a settlement, it is now building in the expectation of a judgement against msft. Once it settles in, the lawsuits will be expected and the price will not have much downside. Instead, earnings, product rollouts, etc, will drive it higher. I don't hold out for a 200 target, the way some do, nor do I think msft will recover back to its old stature for a long time if ever. But it is still a formidable company, and is still the prototype gorilla.

The other factor is that the i-nuts and other highly speculative stocks are getting killed, which is the best thing that has happened to tech stocks for a long time. Once the carnage is done, and investors come back to techs, they will not look for those stocks but will look for solid companies.

Of course, I may be wrong :-)
