Dell Selects HelloNetwork.com in Alliance to Power e-Government Initiatives
LAS VEGAS, Apr 3, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- HelloNetwork.com Inc. today announced that its streaming media technology will enable a recently unveiled e-government initiative by Dell Computer Corp. (NNM:DELL).
The Dell initiative, detailed online at www.dell.com/eGov, will assist local, state and federal governments in using the Internet to offer the public a range of online services and information. Dell produced its e-government Web site to help create an online government community and to showcase government online solutions, case studies, news, events and e-purchaing.

"Dell's e-government initiative is intended to harness the power of the Internet to deliver better government to citizens at the federal, state and local level," commented Michael Dell, chairman and CEO of Dell Computer. "The solutions that Dell and HelloNetwork.com can provide to government are an inspiring example of how the Internet can facilitate communications within complex, geographically dispersed organizations."

HelloNetwork.com's video solutions enable governments to offer online access to legislative sessions, committee hearings, news conferences, park information, traffic conditions and much more. An initial focus of the two companies' marketing efforts is a California Highway Patrol Intranet program.

HelloNetwork.com's streaming media solutions currently are used by the CHP to provide employee training and internal video conferencing. As a Dell customer and e-government solution provider, HelloNetwork.com will use Dell PowerEdge servers to form the company's IT backbone.
