One last thought on RRC - 3rd time a charm for the $2-$3 play ?

Since the first of the year - RRC has hit $3 twice and now is forming a triple bottom off of $2.

finance.yahoo.com

This $2-$3 play is a given imho; but again - the real story is per last year's 3 week move from $2's to $5. It broke out exactly this time last year when Q1 #'s could begin to be crunched...

I would grab the laggard E&P's very quickly here prior to Q1 #'s getting leaked/reported...

NASDQ - wow; can you imagine the carnage from those who margined at say the 4800-5000 level ? - wipe out...3750 looks like its coming to me.

Jim - thanks on the lead on HWL; I'm buying lots of small cap E&P and service here - doing the "DD" now on HWL... may join you; as I've got plenty of room...

My note was just a statement of which large OS stocks are not available to short via Datek. My note on caution was simply that there must be some fairly large short positions if you can't short a stock like SLB. Whether the shorts are right or not for the short term, that's not something I care to comment on.

I thought that this was some data that others on the thread would like to know.

OT:
As to the Nasdaq getting creamed, it has presented some nice opportunities and I admit to buying a few semi stocks this morning. I think the 1st quarter earnings in this sector will look very solid and I believe that a lot of the downside has been removed in select stocks. I do know that I'm betting against the current tide and that this might be a mistake but it's a risk I'm willing to take.
