Even compulsive losers in Vegas occasionally hit, only to let their winnings trickle through their fingers.

Its really a question of potential gain vs risk. Sure, AMD may have a high potential gain (which has realized over the last month or so), but it has a high attendant risk. This fact has been demonstrated over years.

My belief, also born out over many years, is that Intel has the sweet spot in growth vs risk.

Barry and thread,

Hopefully the institutional shorts have all covered after today's blow-off - what a nice excuse they've found in MSFT litigation! - and market shall soon turn its attention to the robust earnings expected for high techs.
