DS,

One thing hitting us today was the EMC - Cisco - Oracle alliance.

biz.yahoo.com

Any analysis on what this means for NTAP? I know that it does not hurt the technological superiority of NTAP products, but it scares me a bit that NTAP wasn't able to cut this deal, especially with the existing deal it has with Oracle, and its management overlap with Cisco. That should have been an NTAP - Oracle - Cisco deal. I am worried not about NTAP's technological acumen at this point, but their business acumen. (Which, as Cisco and Microsoft have shown us, is the more important of the two!)

Thoughts from DS or others?

"Oh, can you hear the margin call, the margin call, the margin call..." Or is it 'Muffin Man'? Forgive me, I have little kids.

I just want to again encourage people to buy only what they can afford. Leave margin accounts alone. They can force you into selling strong companies with bright prospects when you know hanging tight is the smart move. Without some turnaround tomorrow I think we may well see a wave of margin invoked selling by midweek. Take that for the less than 2 cents it is worth. Just that lots of my friends are currently deciding which stock to sell. I hope they don't all choose NTAP! lol

GR

P.S. Forgive the humor on what is not the funniest day of the year for most of us. And the post was not aimed at DS or anyone in particular. Better luck tomorrow to us all!
