Re: Go2net Communicator

Has anyone tried to use the Go2net communicator yet ?

beta.go2net.com

So far, I am not impressed with it for a number of reasons. Here is why...

1. The safari colors are not pleasing to the eye.

2. If you click to check your e-mail it sends you directly to the metacrawler e-mail page. What if you have an S.I. e-mail address ?

3. When you click to go to your e-mail it should keep you logged in to your e-mail account so you do not have to re-enter your username and password every time.

4. There should be an option for community chat on the same page. To the best of my knowledge you can only talk to one person at a time.

5. It does not let you copy a link from one source and paste it into your message line. A must for url addresses.

6. The only notification you get for a new message is a blinking exclamation point. Something should pop up, or you should hear a sound.

7. The colors are making me sick.

8. If someone has a link on their personal profile you should be able to click on that address and get sent there. Communicator doesn't do that.

9. If you are entering the market for chat this late and expect people to use the communicator instead, then your product should have better feature(s)than the others. Otherwise there is no reason to switch from icq, instant messenger or any of the others.
