Bobby, it is impossible for Microsoft to settle with the govt which wants to micromanage how future products will be manufactured. Microsoft as we know it is finished. But, it is better to be finished upholding the principles than without. A settlement where the govt would have retained control of how the products would be made would have led to the destruction of the business. Take your poison - immediate destruction of business or immediate destruction of the stock price. Microsoft chose the latter.

This is akin to toppling the Tower of Babel. The costs will go up for everyone. The government will in effect collect another tax and create or enrich favored wealth redistribution programs. If anything, the government is more resourceful in raising taxes silently than at anytime in its history, whether it's the CPI, the cigarette taxes, the wiring the classroom tax, etc.

Today is the fifth day in the last couple weeks where the short term trading index has gone over 1.5 on the Nasdaq.

Well Bobby I have to disagree with you. Billy should do just what he did and I have to tell you I like MSFT products. Plus, I don't like the blood sucking government and states pulling crap like this on ANYONE. Hope SUNW whiny whiny CEO gets his too.

And as far as being arrogant. No one is more arrogant than the politicians and government agencies.
