It goes back a long way with Bill IMO. After the 1995 ruling he found a loophole and will do this again and again if not stopped.

RE:"Gates has lost prestige and credibility -- I wonder how he feels about being "convicted" of criminal conduct"

I imagine he's a little bitter.

I wonder how all the Microsoft employees feel about pulling the demo lever in the fall?

Those who have lost credibility are the Dep't of Justice and the whiny-baby MSFT competitors who couldn't stand the heat of the free marketplace.

Never owned MSFT, but sick of whiners,

RVM

What about the U.S. Postal Service, DOJ?

You're an idiot. Bill Gates and MSFT shareholders are being wrongly persecuted and prosecuted for ridiculous, misrepresented reasons and you know it.

Who are YOUR heroes? Bill and Hillary? Janet Reno? Judge Jackson? Let's look at those.

1. Bill Clinton: An impeached sex offender. The president of the U.S. was having illegal sex when he was supposed to be working. That's your tax dollars at work, pal. This guy wrote the book on committing crime. Entire threads exist to discuss his antics.

2. Janet Reno: She murdered a bunch of misguided people in Waco, Texas. She looks the other way when her Democratic party officials (bosses) commit crimes.

3. Judge Jackson: Is this man a judge, or a back alley wayward? Judging by his animated use of "street phrases," I'd say the latter.

Bottom line: The democrats are disgruntled. They KNOW their days are numbered and they are "setting fire to all the oil wells on their way out," just like Iraq did in Kuwait while withdrawing. They want to let Bush inherit a big mess. It's all very obvious. You figure it out.
