I'm surprised how they are dragging it on. A simple press release would have done the job. Maybe they anticipate political backlash.

Amazing how some people think that Microsoft owns the world. In fact, when people started making jokes about how Microsoft can buy off the country, the warning bells should have tolled. For that is exactly what people were saying about IBM a few decades back.

Also, whenever people start referring to a company Y as "the next X", as in "Peoplesoft is the next Microsoft", for instance, it always turns out that BOTH X and Y end up being very poor investments going forward from that point.
