"Does EMLX stand to benefit more from windows 2000 or UNIX? Please elaborate"

I think UNIX, by far. They are a designer and manufacturer of UNIX based fibre channel host adapters and hubs. They are designed for UNIX workstations and servers. That is what their flagship products are based on.

The thing is, Windows 2000/NT is laughed at by businesses that need reliability and stability because they are still not as robust an operating system as UNIX. Its not really even close. You need robust operating systems to keep your electronic data safe and secure, NT is know to have less capacity and is more crash-prone.

The downfall of MSFT monopoly will weaken their ability to push their way into the workstation market, which is already mostly dominated by Sun. I think Sun, which designs and manufactures UNIX workstations, remaining the mkt. leader in servers and workstations will benefit EMLX more than if MSFT were to become the field's leader.
