PS: The big boyz had their last chance to shake the tree. Earnings are upon us - they probably sensed a feeling of urgency.

Yes, academia and government is quite different from working in the private sector.

Tech value and beaten-down drug stocks is where I'm hiding. Down only 1% today thank God. And just because I didn't sell one high-flier last week. IBM looks great. UIS, CPQ, JNJ, LU and WCOM. Safer more secure techs sound good to me. Don't expect tech investing to go away. Looking at some other fallen angels, CMGI, COMS to name a couple.
Let's hope for a saner day tomorrow.

PS - Rande reports 9 billion dollars blocks of MSFT going at the close. Suggest Gates and Co. buying their own stock. Who else could afford these type of blocks? Wow.

Dennis,
Can you tell what are solid companies you buy on dips now?
Thanks
