Michael,

Microsoft is the backbone of the tech industry!? Time to go back to school and learn about the internet and what drives it.

Figures worth pondering, if true:

Message 13343598

I guess we wait and see if the Nasdaq losses are converted to permanent losses of buying power through margin calls.

I guess on average a margin account heavy in NAZ stocks might still have around 35% or better equity in it. Some brokerages require 30% or more equity and as we all know the requirements can be a lot higher on some volatile stocks. It might take another 5% down on average in the NAZ to send itself over the edge.

Just a few estimates using nothing more than a few figures, a few pieces of information, and a hand-held calculator.

Mike,

Considering the numbskulls wrote about 2000 articles trashing Warren Buffett for not owning nasdaq stocks do you think they'll write a least one saying he was right again and that maybe 50 years of doing well wasn't an accident?

Big "M",

Let me know if you start another thread, OK??

I logged on this evening to gain some wisdom on this exceptional market action today and what do I find?
From post #79013 to post #79052, 15 of those post attributed to one person.

I guess the best thing to do is hit the ignore button as you did, eh?

Best,
Bill/WA
