equal the market value lost to the 55 million Americans
The money ain't gone unless the funds are sold.

This is going to be a great day for the continuance of the digital fueled economic boom we are enjoying. Look in your local electronic outlet or computer store. Rows and rows of nearly identical machines, some have a little buldge at the top, some have the floppy under the CD, some on top. The PC business is stagnant any dieing. Microsoft in it's present form is a leading reason why it is stagnant. They like to talk innovation, and they are very clever, but innovation is in tiny baby steps around their central theme. They like to say they are vulnerable to other innovators, but the first real new innovator shows up (browsers) and they squash them like a bug using every trick they can think up. When the Microsoft application developers are free to persue platforms beyond windows (server based, cell phone based, tv based, whatever) and the OS developers realize that they need some stability and documentation to attract applications, the PC sector will be revitalized.
