Microsoft can settle at any time, but they are presently dealing from a position of weakness. I've read reports that Microsoft offered significant concessions during the mediation attempts, but the states attorney generals were unwilling to accept, probably less willing to deal than the US Justice Department. I'm just happy to have proof that Microsoft deliberately scuttled Netscape, which I use. To me, that's like Ford making cars that crash without Ford tires. sshles.
