"AMD has exhibited some telltale signs when it has gotten ahead of itself. If you would like Steve, I can send you a private message when AMD gets close to that point again."

Thanks for the info. I wish I would have pulled the trigger on a couple of my other tech stocks last week. I just hate paying short term capital gains. I also hate watching my stocks drop like a stone in water.

Fortunately, with AMD it has been a different story. I bought my first AMD at 27 late last year, got more at 36 or so, more at 43 and more at 52. Each time I thought it was a bargain. I am concerned about a retrenchment. At the same time, everyone who has bought some is thinking earnings are just around the corner and AMD should have a blow out quarter. That mindset I hope will counter any retreat between now and 4/12. It certainly seems to be having that effect the past few trading days.

I think though that we won't have any more major press releases until 4/12. If AMD has reached a deal with Dell, I could see AMD holding off announcing the deal until the same day as earnings -- to maximize the favorable press AMD can generate if it had a great 1Q.
