In this case, the 5% (UNIX world) considered the 95% (PC/Windows) totally useless and inadequate to meet their requirements. In that sense, UNIX and Windows are oranges and apples, and the 5% / 95% comparison really isn't meaningful. One the one hand you can say MSFT had a PC monopoly. But PCs are only one kind of computer. Wasn't there a company that had a near monopoly on very high end fault-tolerant computers?
