Good to see you back akirasawa...I am saving my preaching for this thread now as Kimberly's thread has no value-added. All I see on that thread is blaming of authorities like Clinton, Blair, the Fed, CNBC, Abby Cohen...you name it, you got it. It's truly a desperate sign and it makes me think that the market is maybe 50% done from today's close. There is no justification to even nibble here on any tech stock, particularly the bigger names, which rallied today. One only need to look at biotech and then B2B to see what happens when the momo is taken out of momentum stocks. I remember when people were blaming Clinton and Blair for the demise of the biotechs EVEN THOUGH they had already broken down on the charts. I distinctly remember CRA and HGSI being down 40% each and then rallying to end nearly unchanged for the day...they subsequently began a slow demise which was periodically met by heavy selling. Then for B2B people blamed the Prudential downgrades EVEN THOUGH they had already been going down quite significantly. I urge anybody to use the SI charts and plot QQQ for 1 year. Many will notice that the Nasdaq was making a normal "expected" move for an index until mid-October when for some reason (probably due to y2k). I URGE ANYBODY HERE to give me an answer on why, what, or HOW the FUNDAMENTALS changed to allow the market to move 50% in 10 weeks and MANY stocks move 500-600% in less than 5 months...what fundamentals changed to allow SUNW, ORCL, or even CSCO to quadruple, triple, and and double respectively? The answer is that there was no fundamental change, there was just a mania to buy any and all techs because that was the "future." Now people say the FUNDAMENTALS haven't changed on the way down, but this is a chicken and the egg story...the answer to the riddle was that for many companies there were no fundamentals to start with. So I rest my case, I was mostly cash until today when I sold out of all my longs and went 50% short at the close. I expect to be 100% short by tomorrow. Best of luck all.
