>>I couldn't sleep.<<

I could, suprisingly. But I can't get the knawing feeling out of my stomach that we could have another 20-30 points to the downside before this is all said and done. The NASDAQ index is exerting a tremendous influence over SNDK. Plus, this downturn is with light volume. I think we need a 1 or 2 day large volume blowout to the downside to get out of this correction.

I think that the NASDAQ is going to break 3500 to the downside easy. I hope I'm wrong.

>>The local BestBuy is carrying the Casio QV-3000EX for $999.99 with the IBM microdrive bundled. I guess IBM is resorting to the next best sales strategy... ...their giving it away.<<

Actually, this is a package deal everywhere. I could be wrong, but I thought that the Microdrive was backordered. I don't know whether it is because fo demand or because of yield problems. Casio has bundled the two together.

>>Unfortunately, I no longer believe the $1,000.00 price point is viable in the targeted consumer market for non-professional digital cameras. I have heard several floor managers tell me, for example, that the Olympus C-2500 just isn't moving. At $1,200.00 I think it is clear why.<<

The Olympus C-2500 is only a 2.5 megapixel camera. The $999 price point is now consumer 3-megapixel. I expect that these are selling very well. The Olypmus's more professional features can't make up for its lower resolution compared to the less expensive cameras.

>>Casio has not been a good SanDisk supporter, although I am thankful for their loyalty to the Windows CE product line and the CF standard.<<

Casio does whatever it takes to get an "angle." Bundling the Microdrive is seen as a value play. Casio is being very aggresive in its digital camera promotions because they want to be a major player again after being out of it for so long. Casio finally has some decent cameras out. As far as the WindowsCE, CF is it if you want to be compatible with all the CF Bluetooth, modems, GPS units, etc etc etc that are coming out in the CF form factor. CF is the New Standard Interface for portable devices.
