Yes, John, "no sense" is the word of the day. I tend to disagree with you a bit on the upside with SOME of the hi-tech stocks. Not all hi-tech stocks are alike. Some have real businesses. Now, on the upside, I would tend to conclude that those that really didn't, (most of the dot-coms) in many cases has ridiculous rides up, but other hi-techs, the so-called blue chips, whose rides up were more muted, had some substance behind those rides. But on the way down there doesn't seem to be any distinction other than timing. The dot-coms were the first to get whacked; now even the blue-chip hi-techs are getting whacked. Who knows? Maybe this is indicative of a bottom. When selling gets so irrational a bottom must be near.
