I am surprised by the fear and upset on this thread. We know what to do in downturns and most of us should be sitting on a lot of cash, just losing some excess profits. When it looks this bad, start committing cash a little bit at a time on the best issues you can find. Don;t worry so much about how much it has dropped. Just start buying the best stocks you can find. CREE, NTAP, ADAP, etc.....This is a gift. Just unwrap it slowly, bit by bit.

On Superstitions....(OT)
Afer years of playing baseball from childhood through to college, I have developed the classic superstitions that now guide me.
I never stepped on a foul line, so now I never step on a property line (I'm a contractor).
I always touched the bat to my helmet before stepping in the box, so now I always touch the window to the side of my front door whenever I enter my house.
The worst part about superstitions is when things start turning ugly. I used to experiment with the strangest changes when my I was in a slump (singing new songs under my breath, smashing the bat into my helmet before stepping into the box).
With this latest market disaster, my rituals around the house have become something....well, unique. My poor wife must be wondering why I'm staggering around the house or singing anything from Cat Stevens to Alice In Chains without the stereo on.
And, of course, nothing has been working. Just like in a horrible slump, nothing has been working.
Wish the coach had taken me out of the game before my batting average threatened to send me to the minors.

I know, the Captain (Rande) warned me. But the coach (greed) kept me in the game.
