To put it in perspective: The Nasdaq 100 is back to the level it was at in mid-December 1999. So, we've only given back less than 4 months of gains. Anyone who has dollar-cost averaged over the last several years into growth stocks, is still far, far ahead. They are way ahead, even if they didn't take elementary precautions, like taking profits and hedging. Anyone who loaded up on margin in the last few months, in stocks with triple-digit PEs, as the Fed raised rates again and again and again..........I have a hard time feeling sorry for them.
