KZAP, Re: Think they are happy today?

I believe so but doubt how many are out there ? If you
go over the Yahoo board, you would notice some strange
phenomina, they are very quiet comparing to those bull days. I believe most are busy thinking what to sell to cover margin calls :-). This margin unwinding will be pretty ugly.

Here is a couple of things to keep in mind.

Microsoft pays less salary to its employee than other companies and gives generous stock options. If the Street does not hype the stock price, employee moral will be devastating
and it will affect their product cycle severly than most people will think. Of late a lot of talented people at management level left this company based on the observation that further stock appreciation and split possibilites are limited.

Given the tight labor market for high tech companies, new people may not join that much willingly than it used to be
a few years ago. One of my friends who is completing MS (Computer Science) from a good school decided not to join here
based on these observations. He will be going to Silicon Valley for a small company. Of course this cannot be generalized but one cannot underestimate how much influence
stock price has/will have on productivity and in attracting new talents.

If bad press continues, that also will have some negative effect on their employee.
