<<If the losses of billions of dollars to retirement accounts isn't HARMING to the CONSUMER, what else would we call it?????>>

Yes, speaking of history, it's like the Neurembergh Trials.

You are harming all of Germany by putting these officials on trial.

We were only following his promise of prosperity. We didn't know that innocents were being harmed. So what if a few software developers had their wares pillaged? It's good for the economy.

Who wudda thought that it was an unfair business practice to use our muscle to steal the very gold from the teeth of our competitors and and burn their bodies. This was the best economy Germany has ever had!

Just bought some MS today for the 1st time, so hoping for the best. That said, I don't understand how so many come to the conclusion that MS did nothing wrong. I agree whole heartedly with the justice department, and don't feel companies should be rewarded for being bullies, even if they have a good product. You ask:

"By what means could they possibly believe that MSFT harmed the consumer?"

To which I say, how can you tell if you have been hurt if a potential competing product never came to the market because of their tactics? If you think that has never happened, I believe you are a bit naive. If it doesn't matter to you that it has happened you are too biased in favor of MS.

As an example of my opposite point of view from yours, I bought the stock even though I hate the company. Their domination is so complete that I buy and use their products even though I don't like the company. Was pretty irritated at what they did to Netscape, yet here I am using Explorer. In fact, Explorer is a pretty darn good browser, but that doesn't make it right to crush the Netscape.

Last but not least, not concerned about a stock correction for everyone that has benefitted from MS' rise to the top. It has only hurt people (at this point) who are in above $90, which is probably not the majority of MS stockholders. Now I can afford to play too.
