Jim,

Microsoft has made a fortune by stealing other companies' intellectual property. It is rather pathetic that the Government has allowed this to go on for as long as it has.

Competition should not be allowed to be stifled by gorillas like Microsoft and Intel.

<< I have to because I own a bunch...but my real problem is with the "liberal" trial Lawyers crashing the high tech party. So they break up Microsoft...OK...make 'em pay some fines...which go into the DOJ war chest. Then, who's next? >>

It's not like microsoft is innocent here. It's quite obvious that they've abused their monopolistic power. They've repeatedly tried to destroy open standards, and they almost always persue a course to make it impossible for anyone else to enter a market (rather than supplying the best product for the market).

I have no opinion on trial lawyers or what not, but I firmly believe microsoft needs to be broken up. I also think that it will be of huge benefit to the shareholders to own several smaller sleeker companies which will probably grow faster. That's what happened with AT&T anyway, I suspect it will happen again with microsoft if it's broken up.
