Hi ya, Back to cash. As I stated in my last post to ya, I figured I'd be out of RFMD 15 minutes after the open. Well, it turned out to be 20 minutes. <g> I called my broker to see where it looked like it was going to open. From the time I was answered til just prior to the opening, the stock was trading down to 101, 4 points past the stop!! I canceled the stop fearing the stock being taken at a much lower price than I had intended. Good thing because it turned shortly after the open and came back up. Had I not canceled the GTC-sell, I would have actually made a profit, but fearing the worst, sold at the market losing 5 points from the buy-in point to the exit point. Ended the day down around 107 and looks like it may go lower. Still, with so many of the Semi stocks reporting in about a week and a half, my gut feeling is we'll see a bit of a run in them just prior to earnings release. Problem is, from what point will the run come; 5, 10, 20 points lower than the current price? Staying nimble. ----------------------------------------------- Regarding the following comment you made in a post a day or two ago:"When you mentioned LDP my first thought was that it's wasn't your style, till I looked up the chart. Very impressive. I'm kind of surprized at it's rapid growth for a fund management stock. I'd have to dig a little deeper and find out what there really about. That's one area I own virtually nothing with the exception of my own mutual funds. I'm not sure I'd be too concerned with it's recent drop, there's very few stocks left untouched with the markets recent downturn. Might very well be a good buying opportunity." You're right, this type of stock isn't usually my cup of tea. However, they're also similar to ICGE or CMGI in that they provide Venture Capital to companies with a promising out-look with the intention of the companies going private. Problem is, there is little info available on them via a "Profile" through Yahoo, and not much in the way of a "Research" concensus either, although two analysts follow the stock. The above should be correct soon, though, because of a requirement for them to start reporting quarterly versus what they had been doing (a rule I'm not really familiar with). The board is really informative here on SI, and one fellow in particular, J. Conley, is a real dynamo at providing information on LDP. I would suggest you read the board. It is really interesting. -------------------------------------------- Got a good truck load of crap to take to the compactor site. Still, I think I can find a lot more of SJ's stuff to toss. <gg> Gotta go. Later, Mike
