I'll bet there was a bunch of margin calls today...and a bunch of wealth evaporated.

Some evaporated, a lot of wealth changed hands. Short of selling at high, and buying at low, doing nothing today was a pretty good strategy.

Yes, but a bunch of money made by those who took advantage. The rich got richer (those with spare change and limited margin) - and the wannabe rich got poorer when they got those calls.

Too bad. They really got burned today, but hopefully they learned their lesson. Probably not.
