Hi dangergirl.

If you get in a margin call and the next day your portfolio is up enough to get you out of the call, is everything cool, or do you still have to make a trade to get out of the call?

The key date is the date the margin call is due. As long as you have your account above its margin requirement on the due date of the call, you will be OK.

If, however, you get a call today (due Friday) and your account goes up tomorrow and back down by Friday, you will not have satisfied your margin call and will have to sell something or provide additional cash.

Hope this makes sense.:-)

What a day! I couldn't take it this morning so I left for lunch and then went to play tennis. When I left the naz was down almost 400 points. What a pleasant surprise when I got home and found it was only down 75! Even the EXDS calls I purchased this morning were above water. Maybe I should leave more often.
