I see the market response as the aggregate of all the decisions being made, and therefore the irrational and emotional component is definitely there. In the long run the market is rational; in the short term, noise and "random" fluctuations prevail. Irrational valuations can persist for some time, thus bubbles that inevitably get deflated.

It's obvious that we see the markets from different perspectives. But I'll leave it here rather than debate from our basic premises.
