KM - excellent post! Media power, scary thing, more than the drop in the market. We have all followed it for the past seven days - no doubt CNBC takes some responsiblity.

Again - just heard, "market meltdown, or is it something worse, news tonight."

Lesson learned, follow the media in the future. For now, don't try to fight this trend, you will lose!

I agree about the Media, it has gotton to a point that is unbearable, and I fel that they are to be partially held responsible for all of this carnage, just disgracefull.

KM - you forgot this overused classic, "Nasdaq off it's low for the day, but will traders be selling into the bounce?"

I "love" that one......until today, that was the theme...not - "traders apparently sold into the bounce", but trying to predict that the Nasdaq would fall more and more and more because that's what the NYSE/"sell side" analysts had been putting in their ear.......I agree with everythign you wrote, and the only time I heard mention of the damage to people's lives was this afternoon, with the Nasdaq near it's low, Costello did say that many people were being hurt badly by this.......other than that, they've treated these past 7 days as if it was a big game, and the Nasdaq was not only getting what it deserved, but needed more punishment as well.

Ahhh.....just venting.....I won't ever forget this one.......and maybe West/Puff are correct and this is the beginning of a protracted downtrend....that I can deal with and will trade accordingly taking profits much quicker......impossible to trade or even comprehend a 28% drop in 7 sessions on nothing fundamentally altered....just mass psycholgical panic exacerbated by margin and tax selling.
