<<Laughter>><<chuckle>>

No doubt there will be a few buyers around and quick. <<smile>>
But I expect these markets to drop off in volume and slip into hibernation. (Unless there's a serious event to send them lower)

I've never been an outright bear on these threads for 2 years....and I'm not ready to give in and sell. But we are poised on one right now. There maybe good earnings showing up, but it will not bring back the tech stocks, bios and the Internets to former the snap-crackle-and-pop...!

Not like before.
This whole thing needs a rest. Maybe we just go sideways until fall....with no serious further selling, but the public has had their psyche altered. There going to step back and enjoy the summer and savior their wealth with summer fun.

That's my take. Substantive retracements should be sold happily.

Chip

The Energy Complex earnings are going to be strong.

XOM will have some very good numbers with a big upside
surprise either in Q1 or Q2 of this year.

The Yr 2000 numbers should already give XOM a sub 20 multiple.

the sector earnings will help to build the S&P 500
operating earnings numbers and help their models.

Hi Jorie,

I have maintained for quite a while that the final top of this great bull market will be the mother of all bull traps.

It is quite conceivable that the Dow with its beaten down "value stocks" (and slow growth ) could well become the favorite play.At the same time the NAZ with its high growth players(I'm talking about chip mfrs ,semi equip mfrs - those with really good earnings,- I think the internuts are dust and history)will launch a very convincing MOMO run up to 5000 plus as the SMALL caps provide the % gains and the limited new highs.

This scenario will prove palatable to the maximum number of bullish investors and in fact provide the last great opportunity to the gullable public to receive and complete the final distribution.

NEEEDLESS TO SAY- WE MUST ALL BE SHORT BY THEN for the next great wealth defining moment for the true great traders.

At this magical moment, I think the Russell will top out as the Dow and the Naz get stuck at just below tops due to overhead resistance and shorting pressure.

P.S. We all live happily everafter. JMHO

Bob

Notice how the dow and the s&p are on a convergence with the naz and the russell 2000. The small dogs will still have their day and it will be at the very end.
