David (OT-GTW) - that sounds EXACTLY like the computer I want to build. I'm probably going with the larger hard drive, I want to start burning CDs. Did you get the EV or VX 19" monitor? Do you like your speaker upgrade - those I was thinking of getting aftermarket.

Runs good? Quick? Multi-tasks well? Do you run DSL? If so, did you buy your card thru GTW or the installer?

Thanks.

david - re: proposed new computer

I am also considering a very similar system for CAD/general business use. I will likely purchase from a small vendor that is very supportive of the Athlon:

xicomputer.com

Note, the name of the firm "xi" stands for "Xcellence for Intel" which is a little ironic now that they now highlight the Athlon.

From the reviews (listed on their site) they seem to produce excellent CAD systems and I bet their stability record is very good. CAD is the source of half the crashes for my system (the other half being the web browser).
