"This is a clear decision that they were infringing on our patent." SanDisk filed a complaint against Lexar (Fremont, Calif.) in March 1998, claiming the digital storage card vendor violated a fundamental SanDisk patent covering storage cards with on-board controller functionality. "Any removable flash memory card that includes a controller will infringe upon our patents," said Auclair. "It's a pretty broad patent."
