Some one said that the transcript of the call will be posted on the web site at some point.. They are also presenting tomorrow at a Vancouver Forum that high lights some of the companies based in Vancouver area.. I suspect they will probably talk about more or less what was said today in CC.. And they are also supposed to be at NAB in Las Vegas. FWIW..

Norsat America first quarter DIRECTV unit sales

Wednesday Apr 12 2000
Mr. Derick Walker reports
Norsat America's DIRECTV unit sales for the quarter ended March 31, 2000, were as follows:

DIRECTV unit sales for the quarter increased 529 per cent to 49,631 compared with 7,893 for the first quarter of 1998. Quarter-to-quarter sales increased by 24 per cent from the 39,914 units in the fourth quarter of 1999, traditionally the strongest quarter for DIRECTV.

"Our sales for the quarter reflect the rapidly growing popularity of satellite television as an alternative to cable," said Norsat America's president, Edward A. Johnson. "I would like to commend our dealers and branch offices for the tremendous job they have done in making the DIRECTV product line so readily available across America."

Norsat America also announced that in order to better serve its dealers and to work more closely with its suppliers, the subsidiary has relocated its head office to Irvine, Calif.
