Michael, sorry if I was unclear. I'm not terribly familiar w/microwave transmission tech., nor the aforementioned co. Feel free to correct me if my interpretation oversteps my understanding as I speculate on the plausibility of one vs the other.

Wouldn't the logistics & cost associated w/installing a point-to-point, or point-to-multipoint, to deliver gigabit, in a last mile application, favor the TerraBeam approach? I posted the press release link on the Last Mile thread, but as of yet, no comments. The safety issues have been discussed on the Frank Coluccio Tech. thread in the past as being a limiting factor, but these seem to have been successfully addressed. I've lived in Seattle & if this works w/the inclement weather, it'll work most anywhere.

MRV does seem to be "dead serious" about dominating the last mile. Someone on Yahoo asked about the possibility of this being related to MRV's 'wireless fiberdriver' tech. A question that seems relevant considering the fluid manner in which these emerging technologies are birthed into various solutions & new company identities. Combining wireless & optics in the metro/campus in a reliable, safe, seamless integration w/existing infrastructures would seem to offer the benefit of both logistical & cost advantages. Any insight is appreciated.
