plunge protection team....ask Mike for links to details. it was formed in '87 to prevent crashes. who do you think is buying the spoos with such abandon every time things are beginning to look real dicey? you don't think it's all those courageous 'investors' out there who all of a sudden happen to recognize all at the same moment what an incredible bargain they are looking at?

The first time I read about PPT I thought it sounded flakey. But since then I've read supporting articles in places like New York Times. I wonder if there is a PPT now that Rubin is no longer Treasury Secretary.
