Sudan: Energy Minister In Talks With Visiting British Oil Company Officials

Text of report by Sudanese radio on 4th April

The minister of energy and mining, Dr Awad Ahmad al-Jaz, today met a British delegation from (?Fortune) Company, which deals in oil trade and investment.
The meeting reviewed the company's intention to invest and cooperate with Sudan in this field.

Dr Awad Ahmad al-Jaz briefed the delegation on details of the proposed investment projects in the oil sector aimed at expanding the capacity of crude oil exports, increase the storage facilities and promote and strengthen the various oil industries, including verification of [oil] drilling in all the Sudanese states.

The minister of energy and mining reiterated that the opportunities for investment were open to all without preconditions.

Khartoum, 4th April: Minister of Energy and Mining Dr Awad Ahmad al-Jaz [has] praised the Chinese government and its immense efforts in the Sudanese oil project.

This came when the minister received at his office [on] Monday [3rd April] the Chinese ambassador to the Sudan.
The meeting discussed the bilateral cooperation in the domains of energy and mining.

The minister affirmed that Sudan's door will remain open before all investments, especially in energy and petroleum fields.
