Att is going to get rid of "content". It has no purpose under ATHM's roof. It was just a poor ploy that I too thought was worth a try. It didn't work, so let it lapse.

So content changes to direction on site page. An elevator that leads to right floor?

Att is going to get rid of "content". ...Att will make the necessary changes so that the company reverts back to its mission: facilitator..

After the mergers, T will have 30% of roadrunner.

AOL, it seems, wants to be in the media business and not the cable engineering/phone business.

T wants the opposite - not to be in the media business but to be in the cable engineering/phone business.

Do you think that some kind of deal might be made between T and AOL since between them they have controlling interest in both roadrunner and ATHM?

Perhaps some kind of deal where AOL somehow takes over whatever "content" the system has and T takes over the engineering/phone aspects of the cable internet system?

You cant say it didn't work. It has not even yet been tried. The real test won't be until open access.
You can however say you have come to the conclusion that the net benefit so far is zero and that the market doesn't like it.

How can AT&T get rid of "content" if nobody even knows what it is? Is "content" Excite? Excite is very much also a "facilitator" for other peoples content. A lot of Excite "features" are simply branded versions of something created by someone else.

I fully agree that Excite should focus on being a facilitator (maybe a better term is framework), but I dont think that involves scrapping the Excite that already exists and that millions are comfortable with.
