Would both DATEK and Fidelity be reliable in high volume situations. . .the time you most need to trade? How fast is Fidelity? Can you do buy stops on both?

Two of my DATEK experiences from yesterday:

NTAP: when it hit 47, I placed a stop buy order (market) at the price of 48 1/2. A few minutes later the price went through my stop buy and guess what? No execution - I canceled the order when NTAP hit 54, the canceling confirmation was prompt. NTAP later hit 68, but without me ....

AMAT: was trading at 92, I tried it again and placed my stop buy order at 92 1/2. After that price was hit nothing happened. I also cancelled that order later and AMAT went to 100 .....

Regards,
Jrgen

Brown and Co - it's 6AM and want to trade just before going to work. What do I find but "Sorry, we are experiencing technical difficulties - please try again later". They just won't spend the money to upgrade to duel servers so that they can backup one offline.
