Good article, but when they say
<There's no way we'd be this far along if Microsoft had left development of the browser to Netscape.>
they are asserting that Micrososft's only option other than conquering Netscape would be not compete it all. It's not that black and white. Competition is good. Crushing the competition is bad.

Very good thinking indeed. For my part, I've written to my representatives, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton to let them know how much I disagreed with the way the trial has been handled thus far. George W may not be able to influence things now, but I let him know how important the issue is to me.
