Re short-interest info: If you go onto the Raging Bull thread for the stock you want and open-up any message, then click on the "Raging Links" box near the upper-right, toward the bottom of the resulting reference-page you'll find a line marked "General." And one of the link-options on that line is for "Short Interest Data."

It's for NASDAQ stocks only, and I don't really know if that info is any more current than Yahoo's (could be from the same raw source, for all I know). But you might at least check it out to see...
