I take it most of your post was sarcastic. Keep in mind that sarcasm is often misunderstood online unless so designated.

Millions were spent this morning painting us lower.

Painting the markets lower is against the law. . .that is my point.

As for online brokerages as a play. I don't like them. . . haven't in a long time. . . I feel that we are very very close to an announcement by one of the major banks, like Bank of America, Citibank or Wells Fargo . . .that they will be offering their millions of customers discount brokerage services online. . . .and that the news will ripple down through the brokerages taking them to new lows.

And speaking of advertising by brokerages. . . ever notice how many ads make individual investors look like idiots? Coincidental? Nothing Madison Avenue does is not carefully calculated and discussed. The brokerages WANT the message out there that we are idiots . . .so that we will feel the need to listen to their analysts. . . which in turn plays right back into their hands.
