Ron, what are you buying?

I'll be buying when the dust dies down a little.

AAPL is at the top of my list. JDSU is a total paradox for me- it's either a strong by or a strong short- and I'm befuddled by it. Maybe CSCO- but I'll feel like a cow buying it. Moo.

Welcome, Ron-anyone who leaves a bride at the altar should fit in well around here. <gg> Seriously, I believe that your timing was good and you should enjoy this investment.

<<As soon as the Nasdaq begins to rally those old economy stocks will be abandoned faster than a bride at the alter.>>

maybe so...but some of those brides are worth keeping. for many reason, not the least being the "old economy" stocks will be the beneficiaries of any success from the "new economy" companies. i'd say picking up insurance companies a couple of weeks ago at 25% discounts to their book values was a pretty easy call...especially with 4-5% dividends. it's not quite as easy to say MRVC will properly execute on its plan, as they have made major mistakes in the past. at $190 there was scant margin for error. now, back in the low 70's, just partial execution should provide enough fuel for a move back to 140 or so.... if we get complete execution, the 304 target by VKCO may even be conservative. who knows how the market will decide to price the spinoffs if properly executed in a condusive market...?
